Blue Oval fans certainly have their fair share of cool radio-controlled models from Traxxas to choose from, a list that already includes the sixth-generation Ford Bronco in two different guises, the Ford GT, and the Ford F-150 from the late 1970s, to name just a few. Now, that collection has expanded yet again, this time to include the high-performance, off-road-focused, V8-powered Ford F-150 Raptor R in Pro Scale form.
The Traxxas Ford F-150 Raptor R may not feature supercharged V8 power under its smaller hood, but it is powered by a Vileness 3500 kV brushless motor that’s more than capable of getting it up to speed as desired. It also features clipless body mounting with locking tabs to hold those officially Ford-licensed panels in place, which means that it takes mere seconds to yank those off if one wants to access the modular chassis underneath.
Speaking of the chassis, it’s quite beefy as well, and designed to ensure that the Traxxas Ford F-150 Raptor R is every bit as capable of handling jumps and off-road runs without breaking as the real thing. Traxxas took the time to beef up the suspension and driveshafts for its Raptor R with extra material to “form a nearly indestructible drivetrain,” it notes, which should come in handy since the RC vehicle can reach speeds of up to 60 miles-per-hour.
Other notable features present in the Traxxas Ford F-150 Raptor R include a waterproof receiver box and steering servo, nerf bars to protect the chassis and body from rocks and other objects, heavy-duty suspension arms, progressive rate springs, and rubber-sealed ball bearings, to name just a few. The new RC F-150 Raptor R retails for $529.95 and is available to purchase now.
