Barrett-Jackson’s annual, flagship Scottsdale auction is going on as we speak, offering up plenty of enticing vehicles – many of which are rare, extremely valuable, or just plain coveted in general. That includes the very first 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse ever produced – which is being auctioned off for charity, as has historically been the case. There will also be at least one first-generation Ford Thunderbird with a celebrity ownership history on hand as well – this 1956 model that’s owned by media personality, socialite, and businesswoman Kris Jenner.
This particular 1956 Ford Thunderbird is actually one of two such examples that were purchased from Minter’s Thunderbirds, a Dallas, Texas-based company that specializes in first-generation T-Birds. However, this one is extra notable as it was gifted to Kris Jenner for Christmas, though now, it appears as if she’s ready to move on from the classic, stylish convertible.
Finished in Fiesta Red on the outside with a removable hardtop, this particular T-Bird looks to be in fantastic condition with no notable flaws – fit for a celebrity that wouldn’t want to be seen in anything less, we’d assume. Throw in a set of wire wheel covers, and it exudes the sort of style that we’ve come to expect from early Thunderbirds, too.
That theme carries over to the interior, which is finished in a matching shade of red. It’s also fitted with a few amenities such as power steering, air conditioning, and a Town & Country radio, making it perfect for those fair-weather cruises. Peek under the hood, and one will find a V8 that’s nicely dressed up with plenty of chrome pieces to be found, and it’s mated to an automatic transmission, to boot. If nothing else, it’ll be interesting to see if this T-Bird’s famous owner helps it garner any additional money at auction, but it’s a fine example in its own right, too.
