Big, comfy Blue Oval sedans from recent history are steadily gaining steam on the collector car market, whether they be the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, or Lincoln Town Car. In fact, we saw a 2k-mile 2008 Town Car surface for sale last November, and it was followed by a 41k-mile Mercury Grand Marquis earlier this month. Now, yet another Grand Marquis has surfaced for sale, this time, a 20k-mile 2000 LS that’s currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer.
This 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS was sold new in New Jersey and has remained there ever since, at least until it was purchased by the selling dealer last September. As one would expect from its low mileage total, the sedan remains in stellar condition, with no noted flaws present on its Silver Frost Metallic paint.
Peek inside the cabin, and that’s also the case, as this Grand Marquis’ Dark Charcoal leather power-adjustable split front and rear bench seats look to be in great shape, save for the typical creasing. There are plenty of nice touches and amenities to be found as well, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, various woodgrain trim accents, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo.
Power for this Grand Marquis comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to send 215 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission, coupled with the optional Handling Package. In great shape and hitting the market at the right time for this type of vehicle – which doesn’t really exist anymore – it stands to reason that plenty of bidders will line up for their chance to bring it home.
We’ll have more cool auction finds to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Grand Marquis news and 24/7 Ford news coverage.
