Those in the market for a massive, road-hogging, six-wheel drive pickup have plenty of options to choose from these days, as a number of aftermarket companies are more than happy to build such a machine and sell it to the public for big bucks. In fact, Hennessey Performance alone makes a pair of them – the Ford F-150 Raptor-based VelociRaptor 6×6, as well as the VelociRaptoR 6×6, which is based on the V8-powered Ford F-150 Raptor R. For those looking for something even bigger and more bodacious, there’s also this 2018 Ford F-550 6×6 conversion that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
This 2018 Ford F-550 started life as a regular old medium-duty work truck, but has since been transformed into a Crew Cab six-wheel drive pickup by the folks at Sparks Motors. It was originally put together for DJ Marshmello, but has since been sold to another person, who is now offering the massive hauler via auction, though they’ll need to have a pretty big garage/shop/structure to park it inside. Aside from its sheer size, this F-550 is equipped with an array of upgrades including 22-inch wheels, a louvered hood, a steel front bumper, an Addictive Desert Designs roof rack and side panels, and Rigid LED perimeter and underside lighting.
Rolling on gigantic 40×15.5-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires, this elongated machine features an air-adjustable suspension system, a lift kit, and King remote-reservoir shock absorbers underneath, along with six-wheel disc brakes to help slow it down. Inside the cabin, things are a bit more mundane, with the only real changes consisting of DJ Marshmello headrest embroidery and starfield headliner lighting.
The same goes for what powers this Ford F-550 – the turbocharged 6.7L V8 Power Stroke diesel engine, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Other than an aftermarket exhaust and the removal of the EGR and DEF systems, it remains in stock condition, in fact. Regardless, we imagine that whoever winds up with this massive hauler won’t mind that too much, as it’s really just designed to garner attention – in fact, a thief found it so irresistible that they stole it from a dealership service area back in 2020, only to wind up hitting a pole shortly afterward.
