Ford’s cross-town rival General Motors has revealed a bevy of new or updated products as of late, a list that includes the 2024 Chevy Traverse, 2024 Chevy Trailblazer, and 2025 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban, to name just a few. Now, this revamp continues with the debut of the all-new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, a crossover that will do battle in the showrooms with the Ford Escape – which itself just received a refresh for 2023, but could also be replaced by an EV in the coming years, too.
Of course, the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox also has its own all-electric counterpart already, but in this case, the ICE version only shares a nameplate with that electrified model. In fact, the gas version even sports its own distinctive exterior styling, along with a trim level lineup that consists of LT, RS, and the brand new Activ, which features unique styling cues and all-terrain tires for a more rugged appearance.
Inside the cabin, the 2025 Equinox gets a standard 11-inch digital gauge cluster and 11.3-inch infotainment screen, adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility – unlike its EV counterpart. Otherwise, different trims get varying treatments inside, while the console-mounted shifter in the old model has been moved to the steering column.
In terms of powertrains, the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox comes equipped with the same turbocharged 1.5L four cylinder powerplant as its predecessor, which churns out 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque for front-wheel drive variants or 203 pound-feet for all-wheel drive. It’s mated to a CVT gearbox in FWD configuration, or an eight-speed automatic transmission for AWD models. In terms of timing, the new Equinox is slated to launch at some point this year, though GM hasn’t yet revealed pricing for the new crossover.

Made in Mexico, no thanks.
Mrxico is part of North America, and that Equinox is American made. Not like the Nissans and Toyotas built in the U.S. BTW, my wife has a Canadian built Equinox, and it is also American made.
Nice try.
Escape is ugly, no thanks!
