Traxxas has churned out its fair share of radio-controlled vehicles based on real-life Blue Oval models over the years, with some of the more recent including the now-discontinued Ford GT, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco, the late 1970s Ford F-150, and the high-performance, V8-powered Ford F-150 Raptor R. Now, that list has expanded yet again, thanks to the addition of the new Traxxas Ford Fiesta ST Rally VXL, which is based on the now-discontinued subcompact.
The new Traxxas Ford Fiesta ST Rally VXL is designed to be a high-speed off-road rally racer of sorts, one that can easily crest the 60 mile-per-hour mark, in fact. It’s capable of getting there thanks to the RC car’s Velineon 3s brushless power system, but it’s also designed to take the type of punishment that a real rally car might endure with Traxxas’ Extreme Heavy Duty driveline and suspension, along with a beefy chassis that’s designed to stay rigid no matter the conditions it might incur.
When maintenance is needed, the body of the Fiesta ST Rally VXL is clipless and easy to remove, and it also features Nerf bars to protect it from various obstacles out on the track. Thanks to its waterproof electronics, the rally racer can tackle all kinds of conditions, and it has a 2.4 GHz radio system for maximum range.
Aside from all of that techno-wizardry, the Ford Fiesta ST Rally VXL RC car also just simply looks cool, with its racing livery and giant rear wing, which is actually designed to add downforce and reduce drag. Overall, this is a truly fun-looking machine that should provide hours of entertainment for those that are into such things, all for a retail price of $429.95.
