While the Ford Probe didn’t exactly replace the Ford Mustang as The Blue Oval originally intended, it did go on to enjoy some success in the sales room, regardless. Today, we rarely see Probes out driving around anymore, but nice, lower-mile examples have begun showing up at collector car auctions as of late. That includes a 1993 Ford Probe GT with 30k miles, as well as a 1997 model with a mere 1,000 miles on the clock. Now, that list has expanded yet again, this time to include a pretty stellar 1994 Ford Probe GT with just 28k miles that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
As is often the case with these gently used modern vehicles, this 1994 Ford Probe GT has remained in the possession of a single family since it was new, at least until it presumably moves on to a new owner following the conclusion of this auction. As such, it sports few flaws in its Rio Red Tinted Clearcoat paint, though the seller does note that the passenger-side rocker panel was previously damaged – which has obviously been repaired and repainted.
The same goes for the interior – where the driver-side window switchgear is loose – but otherwise, everything looks quite tidy and in nearly-new condition. Along with gray cloth seats sporting patterned inserts, this Probe GT is equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, door locks, and mirrors, and a JVC CD stereo with Bluetooth.
Power for this sanitary Ford Probe GT comes from the Mazda-sourced, naturally-aspirated 2.5L DOHC V6 that was factory-rated to produce 164 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. There are a few maintenance items that need to be performed here, as the engine has a squeaky belt or two, but otherwise, it’s a fine example of a cool car from Ford’s past.

I had a couple Ford Probe GT’s and the both had Leather interior. Don’t feel like this is a GT
Our Gen 1 Probe LX was an outstanding car. Would be great to see Ford bring the Probe back as a sporty coupe based on Focus/Escape underpinnings with the Hybrid and EcoBoost 2.0 engines carried over intact. Use the old Focus ST 2.0/6-speed as the basis for a Probe GT.
It is a GT. It has the 2.5L DODC V6 eng. Sadly, no manual transmission.
Had a 94 base Probe. Hands down the worst POS i have ever owned, and i have owned over 100 vehicles in my life. Was in the shop at least once a month.
Doesn’t look like a GT.. and a slush box and no leather. Yuk
V6=GT you chucklefncks
