The Ford C-Max has been a favorite of Consumer Reports and its members for some time now, racking up distinctions such as being named one of the best used hybrids or EVs priced less than $15k, one of the best used vehicles in general that cost between $10,000 and $15,000, one of the best used vehicles on the market available for under $15k, and one of the most fun-to-drive vehicles out there, too. Now, that list has grown yet again, as Consumer Reports just named the 2015-2016 Ford C-Max as one of the best used cars on the market for the new year.
With inflation and interest rates soaring to new heights – right along with new and used vehicle prices – it’s quite difficult to find a solid mode of transportation these days at a reasonable price, and that’s precisely what inspired the creation of this list. Of course, finding a good used vehicle can be tricky too, especially if one is seeking a combination of reliability, value, and modern tech and/or safety features. Thus, this list contains vehicles that check all of those boxes, and also scored well in CR‘s road testing and owner surveys in terms of reliability.
This latest list is broken down by price range, and in that regard, the 2015-2016 Ford C-Max made the cut as one of the best used vehicle available for between $10,000 and $15,000, along with the Toyota Prius. Consumer Reports noted that it made this selection as the C-Max “is practical and nicely finished, and returned 37 mpg overall in our tests.”
In addition to that praise, the Ford C-Max also made this particular list because it comes with a wide array of standard safety equipment. In fact, these vehicles were required to have standard electronic stability control, while most models on this list offered optional features including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and/or lane keeping assistance.
We’ll have more on the C-Max soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for Ford C-Max news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
