Over its years in production, the last-gen Ford GT was offered in a wide array of limited-edition variants, including the 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition, which was revealed at the Chicago Auto Show that same year. As is the case with some of its counterparts, the Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition was designed specifically to pay homage to an important component of the car’s checkered past – in this case, the team that played a big role in the GT40’s development and subsequent 1-2-3 sweep at the 1966 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now, this 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition is headed to Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach auction in April, giving one lucky person the chance to bring home a truly special version of what is already a truly special machine.
This particular 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition – which is being sold with no reserve – is one of just 30 built, as well as one of the more sought-after Heritage Edition models produced over the years. All of those cars are finished in the same red and gold livery as the racer that inspired it in the first place, as well as a dual over-the-roof racing stripe, Frozen White signature accent stripes, and roundels with the number 16 on the doors, hood, and underside of the rear wing. Exposed carbon fiber can be found on the wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine louvers, and rear diffuser, while the car’s Brembo brake calipers are finished in black with red graphics.
Inside the cabin, one will find an array of carbon fiber pieces including the door sills, console, and registers, while Ebony Alcantara-wrapped carbon fiber seats feature gold and red accent stitching. The GT logo appears on the seats and head restraints, while the instrument panel is wrapped in Ebony leather and Alcantara, with Ebony Alcantara adorning the pillars and headliner, plus gold appliqués in various places as an added accent.
As is the case with every Ford GT from this generation, the Alan Mann Heritage Edition is powered by a higher-output version of the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Given how incredibly popular the Ford GT is these days – and the prices they’re selling for at auction – it’s probably safe to assume that this one will conjure up significant interest when it crosses the block in a couple of months.
