2025 Ford Explorer Keyless Entry Pad Now Dealer Option

Over the past few months, a handful of Blue Oval models have dropped the SecuriCode keyless keypad from their lineup – at least as factory-installed options. That includes the 2024 Ford Escape and 2024 Ford Bronco Sport, but the feature is still available as a dealer-installed option called the Illuminated Door Entry Keypad, which costs $350 option for all trims in the 2024 Bronco Sport lineup, as well as the 2024 Escape Active, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and PHEV. Now, the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer has become the latest Blue Oval model to make the keyless entry pad a dealer-installed option as well.

2025 Ford Explorer Illuminated Door Entry Keypad

Like the 2024 Escape and Bronco Sport, opting for the new dealer-installed Illuminated Door Entry Keypad costs $350 and can be added when the crossover is delivered, or afterward, if so desired. Regardless, this is a nearly integrated piece that isn’t some sort of stick-on pad, either, and is installed using existing wiring, allowing owners to access their vehicle even if they don’t have their key or phone on them. Owners can choose to create up to five personal codes, too.

It is worth noting that while the Illuminated Door Entry Keypad can be added to any trim level of the 2025 Ford Explorer, if one opts for the entry-level Active, it also requires adding the Active Comfort Package, which costs an additional $3,080. That package adds a host of other items such as a heated steering wheel, LED fog lamps, a silver-painted front skid plate, LED signature lighting, the remote start system, an eight-way power adjustable passenger seat, ActiveX seating material, and the universal garage door opener.

Other than this change, the 2025 Ford Explorer features a series of updates, ranging from revised exterior styling to a slightly revamped interior, available BlueCruise, a larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
