Last June, Ford Authority reported that a street performance-focused version of the Ford Maverick was in the works, which is a concept that’s been batted around for some time now. Shortly thereafter, Ford Authority spotted what appeared to be a pair of street performance Ford Maverick pickups out testing, sporting a much lower ride height than existing variants. Now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that the forthcoming 2025 Ford Maverick performance variant will feature a wheel design that’s brand new to the model, too.
In fact, the performance-focused version of the 2025 Ford Maverick is set to gain a brand new set of wheels that are larger in diameter and fitted with lower profile tires, neither of which is anything that the compact pickup has been available with to date. Currently, the Maverick can be had with a variety of 17- and 18-inch wheels, but it’s unclear what kind of upgrade this new combination might provide over those existing options.
Last November, Ford Authority spotted a 2025 Ford Maverick prototype clad in heavy camo that was also equipped with 19-inch wheels wrapped with 225/65R19 Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT all-season tires, but it’s unclear if that is the same combination that we’ll see on the future performance model.
Other than the addition of this new performance model, the 2025 Ford Maverick is set to receive a mid-cycle refresh complete with what will likely be revisions to its exterior styling, at least at the front and rear portions of the vehicle, at the very least. An even bigger change could potentially lie within the cabin, however, as Ford Authority spotted a prototype earlier this month that was equipped with a larger infotainment screen – which could be the same 10.1-inch unit as the base Ford Ranger, a model that just received a redesign for the 2024 model year.
We’ll have more on the 2025 Ford Maverick performance variant soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Still waiting on news about the U.S. Ranger
Me too ! Looking for Hybrid, AWD, 360 camera and power on board for either or both the Maverick and Ranger.
Fingers crossed they announce a 2.3T before I end up getting a Golf R or Integra Type-S
If they give the Maverick a manual I’ll buy one. Till then, I’ll pass.
Is it really a performance model if it’s not fast AND it doesn’t at least have a manual transmission as an option?
Ranger 2.7 availability
