As Ford Authority reported yesterday, a recent ramp up in Ford Maverick production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant helped the red-hot compact pickup enjoy a tremendous monthly sales increase of more than 98 percent in January. Last month, Ford produced 16,269 units of the Maverick, which is 5,495 units or 51 percent more than December, when the Hermosillo plant churned out 10,774 units in total. However, the Maverick wasn’t alone in that regard, as Ford Bronco Sport production at Hermosillo also increased in January 2024, according to Ford’s latest sales report.
In December, Ford Bronco Sport production increased by 1,609 units or around 14.6 percent versus November, helping it close out the month with 12,559 total units of production. This also means that the rugged crossover posted a total production figure of 160,635 units for the entire calendar year. However, things improved even further in January, as Ford Bronco Sport production at Hermosillo finished at 14,639 units – an increase of 2,080 units, or roughly 16.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has been treated to a few notable updates in the crossover’s fourth year of production. For starters, the Heritage Limited is being dropped from the lineup, along with the entry-level Base trim, though Ford is also adding two other interesting options to the mix – the Black Appearance Package and the retro-themed Free Wheeling model.
Additionally, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport lineup has dropped its factory-installed keyless entry keypad, instead making it a dealer-installed option, along with its windshield wiper de-icer. As is usually the case in model year transitions, the 2024 Bronco Sport marks a few changes to its available exterior color palette, ditching a grand total of four choices as well – though at least a couple are being replaced by new hues.
