Ford Colombia Sales Up Five Percent In January 2024

Ford Colombia sales increased five percent to 450 units in January 2024 compared to January 2023 results.

Individual model sales performance was as follows:

Ford Bronco Sport sales increased 82.14 percent to 51 units
Ford Edge sales decreased 61.54 percent to 10 units
Ford Escape sales increased 218.75 percent to 204 units
Ford Expedition sales increased 60 percent to 8 units
Ford Explorer sales decreased 22.58 percent to 48 units
Ford F-150 Lightning sales totaled 1 units
Ford F-Series sales decreased 16.67 percent to 15 units
Ford Ranger sales decreased 49.32 percent to 112 units

The Ford Authority Take

Ford Colombia sales continued the solid pace set at the end of last year, and began 2024 with a healthy boost last month, which represents the fourth consecutive month of increases for the brand in the South American country. Although both the pace of growth and volume dropped when compared to previous months, Ford’s growth contrasts with the generalized declines of its rivals in the Colombian market.

The main vehicle responsible for the brand’s growth in January was the Ford Escape, which again registered a drastic triple-digit increase in the country. This is the fourth consecutive substantial increase for the compact crossover in that market – where it is now the best-selling model thanks to nationwide improvements to inventory. In fact, the Escape managed to cushion the Ford Ranger’s significant drop.

In addition to the less significant increases in the Ford Bronco Sport and Expedition, the Ford F-150 Lightning also stands out, albeit for a different reason. The all-electric truck is currently not offered for sale in the country on an official basis, but it appeared in the sales record through direct import. As of this writing, it is unclear if the pickup will be officially sold in Colombia.
