Ford Maverick Hybrid Is CR’s Most Satisfying Pickup Of 2024

The Ford Maverick Hybrid has thus far won over owners and critics alike thanks to its combination of excellent efficiency and low cost of entry, having previously been recognized by Consumer Reports as one of the best vehicles on sale today with some of the lowest ownership costs in its class, all while also ranking among its members’ most satisfying pickups and vehicles overall, regardless of segment. Now, the Ford Maverick Hybrid has once again performed quite well in that regard by ranking as Consumer Reportsmost satisfying pickup of 2024, too.

As is always the case, CR‘s list of the most satisfying vehicles comes straight from its owner surveys, and more specifically, one particular question – “given the opportunity, would you buy or lease this vehicle again?” The percentage of owners that respond with a “definitely yes” are what constitutes a vehicle’s overall score. When determining its most satisfying pickup list for 2024, Consumer Reports limited eligible vehicles to include only compact, mid-size, and full-size models of that type.

In that regard, the Ford Maverick Hybrid topped all pickups on the market with a score of 77 out of 100 possible points – all except for the Honda Ridgeline, which tied with the compact pickup thanks to its identical score of 77. Notably, the Ford Maverick Hybrid also managed to beat out its top (and only, really) competitor – the Hyundai Santa Cruz – which slotted in just behind those two with a score of 74.

Consumer Reports praised the Maverick Hybrid for its excellent fuel efficiency after averaging 37 mpg in its own testing, as well as how quiet and smoothly it operates. The consumer organization is also a big fan of the Maverick’s handling and ride quality, ease of access, visibility, easy-to-use controls, and practicality.
