Ford Ranger MS-RT Debuts As Sporty European Street Truck

Back in early 2021, the Ford Ranger MS-RT (for M-Sport Road Technology) debuted in Europe as a pretty unique and sporty offering inspired by the automaker’s global rally racing efforts. That particular variant managed to carve out its own niche in the region, and was joined by the Ford Transit Custom MS-RT as well. As Ford Authority reported yesterday, The Blue Oval just revealed a new Transit Custom MS-RT based on the redesigned version of that van, and it will once again be joined by an also-new version of the Ford Ranger MS-RT, too.

Developed in conjunction with MS-RT – an offshoot of Ford’s rally partner, M-Sport – the new Ford Ranger MS-RT continues the trend set by the outgoing model as a utilitarian yet sporty vehicle capable of making even mundane tasks like hauling things a bit more fun. On the outside, that’s quite evident by its many unique features that include a front fascia inspired by racing versions of the Ranger, a honeycomb grille, integrated front spoiler, exclusive diamond-cut 21-inch wheels with low-profile tires, flared wheel arches, MS-RT graphics, side skirts, a cab spoiler, rear ducktail spoiler, and a unique rear bumper with an integrated diffuser.

That sporty theme continues inside the cabin, where the Ford Ranger MS-RT is equipped with unique seats that feature more supportive bolstering covered in vegan leather and suede, blue stitching, MS-RT badging, and a sculpted sports steering wheel with a blue 12 o’clock marker and MS-RT branded inlay.

Sitting 40mm lower thanks to its specially-tuned sport suspension, the Ranger MS-RT also has a 40mm wider track to improve handling prowess. It works in tandem with the turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 diesel powerplant, which generates 240 PS (238 horsepower) and 600 Nm (443 pound-feet) of torque, which flows to all four wheels via the 10-speed automatic transmission and Ford’s e4WD full-time four-wheel drive system. European customers can order both the Transit Custom MS-RT and Ford Ranger MS-RT from Ford Pro dealers right now, with the first deliveries expected to begin in mid-2024.
