Aside from coming across all kinds of interesting vehicles at collector car auctions, we also tend to see lots of cool Blue Oval-related memorabilia, which is perfect for decorating offices, garages, or just one’s basement. In fact, over the past few months, we’ve come across things like an illuminated Ford Mustang sign, an RS Cosworth sign, a 1953 Ford neon sign, a light-up Blue Oval sign, and some Fox Body Mustang wall art, to name just a few. Now, FoMoCo fans have yet another cool piece of kit to bid on – this sofa that contains parts from a 1968 Ford Mustang and is currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
The seller originally put together this 1968 Ford Mustang sofa for their business just this year, using the rear body section, taillights, trim, and bumper components from that particular pony car. That bodywork was then finished in a classic combination of blue with white stripes, and is accented by some chrome trim, to boot.
In addition to those goodies, this sofa also features a working, illuminated LED reverse light that can be controlled by a switch that’s hidden underneath the fuel filler cap. Users are able to turn the LED reverse and taillights both on and off – as well as adjust their brightness – using a control fob, too.
Of course, a couch wouldn’t be a couch without somewhere comfy to sit, and this 1968 Ford Mustang inspired creation has that as well – in this case, a 50-inch wide seat sporting black leather upholstery with blue diamond stitching and white stripes, while a black skirt extends below the seat, covering legs with locking caster feet. Altogether, this rather large piece measures in at 70 inches wide, 36 inches deep, and 34 inches tall, with a weight of around 235 pounds – making it a pretty cool and useful piece of furniture for any die-hard Blue Oval fan.
