Steeda’s Top Ford Explorer ST Mods For Under $500: Video

Along with churning out parts for vehicles like the Ford Mustang and Ford Bronco, Steeda also offers an array of upgrades for the performance-focused Ford Explorer ST, too – not to mention a red-hot law enforcement version of the crossover as well. Though it’s already pretty capable in stock form thanks to its beefed-up suspension and the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost powerplant that churns out 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, there’s still some room for improvement just waiting for Ford Explorer ST owners to achieve – and this video from Steeda outlines five of its more affordable ways to do precisely that.

First up, we have Steeda’s adjustable rear sway bar, which helps upgrade the driving characteristics of the Ford Explorer ST by sharpening up its handling and reducing body roll without affecting ride quality. It also doesn’t void any warranties and is easy to remove if one desires, and owners can even tweak it to suit their presences, too.

Next up, we have a performance tune for the Explorer ST, which is a cheap and easy way to unleash some extra power from its turbocharged powerplant, as well as extract better fuel economy, too. A rear differential brace helps put that power to the ground a bit better, which is notable because the Ford Explorer ST has issues with a weak rear end bolt that prompted a recall – making this brace a nice way to beef up that trouble spot.

A subframe bushing support system is a great way to fill in factory voids in the rear subframe bushings, reducing noise, vibration, and harshness at the same time. A cold-air intake also helps unleash a little extra power from one’s performance-focused crossover and it comes with a washable and reusable air filter, while – finally – lowering springs are not only a nice way to improve the looks of one’s Explorer ST, but tighten up its handling as well.

We’ll have more parts and accessories to share soon, so be sure to subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Explorer news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
