With the first-generation Ford Bronco soaring in value over the past several years – thanks to rapid popularity among not only collectors, but also a number of famous folks – we’ve seen quite a few cross the auction block as of late and rake in huge amounts of money, a list that includes everything from an extensively-modified 1977 Ford Bronco to another of that same model year that belonged to comedian Kevin Hart. Now, this 1977 Ford Bronco up for grabs at Bring a Trailer seems poised to also sell for a large sum of cash, but in this case, that’s because it’s a rather special and original example of its breed.
Incredibly, this 1977 Ford Bronco has a mere 9k original miles on the odometer, which is one of the lowest – if not the lowest – we’ve ever seen from a first-gen model. Originally delivered to Dick Hunt Ford in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, this particular Bronco was sold to a local firefighter and remained in the possession of his family until 1994, when it was sold by his widow to a police officer, followed by the seller back in 2020. Regardless, none of those owners have clearly driven it much over the years.
Now, this 1977 Ford Bronco is looking for a new home, this time, covered in the same dust and dirt that it has accumulated from sitting for a number of years, largely unused. On the outside, the SUV is covered in Medium Emerald paint with white stripes, though portions of the bodywork were reportedly resprayed by the original owner, and there are a few modifications present as well. The same goes for the Parchment interior, which is well weathered, but in solid shape, regardless.
The seller did go through the Bronco’s original 302 V8 and has updated the SUV mechanically speaking, giving it new fuel tank and pump, carburetor, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake lines and drums, and a fresh battery, so it may very well be in running condition at the moment. However, considering that it has less than 9k miles on the clock, we doubt the new owner plans to cruise around in it very much – if at all.
