Over the past few years, we’ve seen quite a few interesting last-gen Ford Thunderbird models surface for sale at various online collector car auctions, a list that includes a quite rare Neiman Marcus Edition, the one and only Supercharged Thunderbird Concept, a James Bond 007 Edition, and even a high-mile example that sold for solid money. Now, yet another 2003 Ford Thunderbird 007 Edition has emerged looking for a new owner, this time, at Bring a Trailer.
Back in 2002, Ford reached an endorsement deal with Eon and MGM, and at the time, the automaker owned both Jaguar and Aston Martin – brands that have long been featured in James Bond movies. With the Thunderbird making a comeback, this was the perfect time to offer a limited-edition run of the movie version, which is driven by actress Halle Berry in Die Another Day.
The production Ford Thunderbird James Bond 007 Edition is modeled after that big screen star of a car, finished in a first-gen T-Bird color dubbed Sunset Coral and equipped with special features including a Performance White leather interior with engine-turned aluminum accents, a plaque in the glove box, unique 21-spoke wheels, a black soft top, and a Performance White hardtop.
Just 700 units of the Ford Thunderbird 007 Edition were produced in total, and this one has a relatively low 44k miles on the odometer. Power for this limited-edition model comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.9L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 280 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. With an original MSRP of $43,995, it’ll certainly be interesting to see if this nice example recoups that total or even sells for more, though we’ll have to wait a few days to find out.
We’ll have more cool cars for sale to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Thunderbird news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
