Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023 Ford Maverick and Ford Bronco Sport models over an issue with tires.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the tires may have been manufactured incorrectly, which may result in a loss of vehicle handling and control.
The hazards: a loss of vehicle handling and control increases the risk of a crash.
Ford Motor Company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: tires
Affected vehicles: select 2023 Ford Maverick models produced at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant between October 5th, 2023, and October 10th, 2023, and 2023 Ford Bronco Sport models built between October 5th, 2023, and October 11th, 2023.
Number of vehicles affected: 115 – 37 Maverick pickups and 78 Bronco Sport crossovers.
The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the tires, as necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 1st, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S20.
