2024 Ford F-150 Pickups Amass At Michigan Speedway: Video

As Ford Authority reported last month, hundreds if not thousands of 2024 Ford F-150 and Ford F-150 Lightning pickups were recently being stashed at the automaker’s Dearborn test track, but at the time, it was unclear why that was the case. However, shortly thereafter, we learned that the automaker was performing routine quality checks on its refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 pickups before shipping them to dealers, while a stop-ship had been issued for the F-150 Lightning over a problem with the headlights. Since then, deliveries of the 2024 F-150 have begun, but this new video from WLNS 6 News shows even more pickups piling up at Michigan International Speedway.

It isn’t unusual for Ford to make use of its many properties around the Dearborn and Detroit areas -as well as other places near its assembly plants – to store vehicles, but over the past few months, it has also been using the race track to park pickups, too. This sight came as a bit of a surprise to local residents, who aren’t used to seeing such things, and led to a lot of speculation, as one might imagine.

However, FoMoCo later clarified that the thousands of F-150 pickups were shipped and parked at MIS back in January and February as part of the automaker’s new process of completing quality checks to ensure vehicles are problem-free before sending them to dealers and customers, as has been the case for over a year now.

Regardless, as Ford Authority reported late last month, the 2024 Ford F-150 has now begun shipping to dealers, meaning that these units likely won’t be sitting around much longer. In fact, the pickup’s launch ultimately wasn’t even delayed as a result of quality checks, as the refreshed model was originally expected to begin shipping in Q1, too.

I have been a Ford man all my life , almost 80 years old. I wish Ford would go back to check the items the buyer actually wants instead of packages..loaded with stuff I’ll never use. I also wish they had some colors other than the drab offerings now available.. and Black without pixie dust…just plain Black.

Henry would be proud. He always had two colors. Black and black
