Ford’s Brazilian team has played a big role in developing features for some current products over the past few years, including several aspects of the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer and the Remote Rev feature in the 2024 Ford Mustang. These efforts really ramped up following Ford’s decision to cease its manufacturing operations in the South American country, but in the time since, it has shifted its focus to not only the engineering side of the business, but also, launching new products in Brazil. The latest is the 2024 Ford Mustang, as the very first units rolled off a cargo ship earlier this month. Now, the 2024 Ford Mustang GT Performance has officially launched in Brazil, too.
The 2024 Ford Mustang GT Performance model is, in fact, the only one on sale in Brazil, which means that it comes equipped with an array of desirable equipment. That starts with what’s under the hood – the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, which in this guise generates 488 horsepower, and it’s mated exclusively to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
Other notable mechanical upgrades include the MagneRide suspension, stabilizer bars taken from the last-gen Mach 1, Brembo brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, and unique wheels wrapped with P-Zero 255/40 R19 tires up front and 275/40 R19 in the rear. The Brazilian 2024 Ford Mustang GT Performance is available in eight colors – Zadar Red, Arizona Red, Estoril Blue, Algarve Blue, Arctic White, Torres Gray, Catalonia Gray, and Asturias Black – and is on sale now with a starting price of R$529,000 ($106,235 USD), though initial deliveries are expected to begin in June.
“This new generation inaugurates another chapter in the history of the Mustang, which has a unique trajectory within the industry and impresses by its constant capacity for evolution and innovation. And all this success, in fact, has a very simple reason – the great passion that, like the fans, all Ford teams have for this product,” said Rogelio Golfarb, vice president of Ford South America.
