The 2024 New York International Auto Show kicked off this week, and as is usually the case, there’s plenty of interesting news emerging from that long-running event. On the Blue Oval side of things, we already knew that Lincoln was sitting out the show, just as it did last year, but Ford had a press conference scheduled that seemed to indicate that it may have been planning to debut some sort of new or refreshed product in New York – such as the 2025 Ford Expedition. However, that wasn’t the case, as FoMoCo has instead chosen to use this particular venue as a way to celebrate the Ford Mustang.
Fresh of being named the best-selling sports car in the world yet again, the Mustang is also celebrating 60 years since it made its public debut at the 1964 New York Auto Show. Thus, The Blue Oval has quite a few things in store to celebrate that milestone, including a yet-to-be-revealed 60th Anniversary Package, as well as a mysterious new feature that existing pony car owners will be able to get via a software update next month.
Thus, we’re still waiting for the refreshed 2025 Ford Expedition to be revealed, though we do already know quite a bit about what to expect from the latest update for the full-size SUV. To date, Ford Authority has spotted multiple 2025 Ford Expedition prototypes out testing, showing off its Range Rover-like exterior design aesthetics in the rear, which will be joined by some tweaks up front as well.
Even bigger changes are expected to take place inside the cabin, as the 2025 Ford Expedition will receive a coast-to-coast or pillar-to-pillar screen, along with an additional screen in the center stack that’s located between the HVAC vents, a relocated rotary shift knob, and a new steering wheel design, along with various other updates for the new model year.
We’ll have more on the 2025 Ford Expedition soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Expedition news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
