The Ford Authority Take

After beginning the calendar year with a significant drop, Ford Argentina sales suffered a notable dip again in February. The Blue Oval’s market position was once again affected by the severe difficulties that the Argentine automotive industry is going through, causing FoMoCo to notch two consecutive months of contraction.

However, despite the widespread declines in most models, Ford Argentina had an outstanding achievement in February by positioning the all-new Ford Ranger as the best-selling midsize pickup in the country for the first time in a long time. The Ranger finished as the best-selling truck and narrowly surpassed the traditional best-selling leader Toyota Hilux, which sold 1,373 units during the month.

In addition, the newly introduced Ford Territory performed well last month – with a drastic triple-digit increase that consolidates it as the brand’s second best-selling model, and one of the most popular crossovers on the Argentine market.
