Following its decision to partner with Tesla to grant Ford EV owners access to the latter’s Supercharger network, FoMoCo worked together with that same company to develop an adapter that would enable precisely that. Ford CEO Jim Farley revealed the company’s new North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter in late February, and just a few days later, that part became available to reserve for owners of two Ford EV models – the the Ford F-150 Lightning and Ford Mustang Mach-E. Now that the new Ford EV adapter is beginning to reach customers, they’re also discovering that it comes with a pretty nifty little note from Farley himself, too.

This discovery comes to us from Ford F-150 Lightning owner and founder of the Northeast Lightning Club and Lightning Clubs of America, Joe Sholtes, who posted a picture of the note on X recently. “Dear valued Ford customer,” it reads, “I want to personally thank you for being part of the Ford family and for joining the Electric Vehicle revolution ahead of the curve. The Fast Charging Adapter in this box will unlock access to thousands of Tesla Superchargers, giving you more charging options. This gift is an expression of our appreciation for your loyalty as we continue working to improve the overall EV experience.”
Ford’s new NACS adapter enables customers to utilize the FordPass app – not the Tesla app – or their vehicle’s infotainment screen to pay for Supercharger sessions after creating an account and activating the Plug & Charge feature. From there, all they have to do is simply pull in, plug up, and charge, though future Ford EV models will come with NACS ports from the factory, rather than CCS as is currently the case, meaning that they won’t need an adapter.
We’ll have more on Ford’s NACS adapter soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for 24/7 Ford news coverage.

Can it be used for a 2016 Ford C-Max Energi SEL?
