Ford Expedition Production Increased In January 2024

After facing a bit of adversity last fall due to the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike, Ford Expedition production at the Kentucky Truck plant bounced right back in November, reaching 6,730 units – an increase of 3,592 units or 114 percent versus October. However, things shifted back downward in December as Ford Expedition production declined to 6,495 units, which was admittedly a slight month-over-month decrease of 235 units, or around 3.5 percent. With January in the rear-view, it’s also worth noting that these numbers increased to kick off 2024 as well, according to FoMoCo’s latest sales report.

In January, Ford Expedition production totaled 9,324 units, which represents a significant month-over-month increase of around 43.6 percent, or 2,929 units. It’s certainly possible that the holidays impacted Expedition production in December, as is often the case, but now, that result seems like a minor blip on the proverbial radar.

Meanwhile, both the Ford Expedition and its platform mate – the Lincoln Navigator – are set to receive some updates soon as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year. As Ford Authority previously reported, hybrid versions of the Expedition and Navigator are seemingly likely to debut alongside the forthcoming 2025 model year updates planned for both models, which include revised, Range Rover-like exterior styling and new taillights for the Expedition, along with Nautilus-like cues for the Navigator, plus revised interior designs and even a coast-to-coast display screen for the big Lincoln SUV.

As Ford Authority reported just last week, the 2025 Ford Expedition will also receive a pretty extensive interior makeover, one that will include the introduction of a coast-to-coast or pillar-to-pillar screen, along with an additional screen in the center stack that’s located between the HVAC vents, much like the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, among various other tweaks.
