The Ford F-Series lineup has remained at the top of the U.S. sales charts for well over four decades at this point, which is an impressive streak by any measure. As such, the F-Series routinely ranks at or near the top of many other types of lists, whether that be used or new vehicle sales, the percentages of vehicles that are the most financed or leased, and many, many more. Thus, it’s not a huge surprise to learn that in 2023, the Ford F-Series also ranked first in the U.S. in terms of vehicle registrations, according to new data from S&P Global Mobility.
The Ford F-Series continued its hot streak in terms of registrations in the U.S. last year, retaining its title at the top of that list with 676,989 total – good enough to account for 4.5 percent of all vehicle registrations. It was followed by the Chevy Silverado, which trailed far behind in second place, followed by the Toyota RAV4, Ram 1500, Tesla Model Y, Honda CR-V, GMC Sierra, Toyota Camry, Nissan Rogue, and Jeep Grand Cherokee in what was once again a truck-friendly year. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Ford F-Series also topped this same list with fleet sales excluded, too.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the F-Series remains a pivotal part of Ford’s business, generating more revenue than entire corporations such as Starbucks and even ranking second only to the Apple iPhone in terms of branded consumer product sales back in 2020. In 2023, the F-Series continued its decades-long hot streak in terms of sales as well, topping both pickup sales and overall new vehicle sales at the same time, with no signs of letting up in that regard anytime soon.
