Ford Super Duty Driver Wrecks School’s Football Field: Video

While automotive theft is an increasingly common occurrence these days, rarely do we see thieves take to public places and proceed to use those vehicles to tear them up. However, a little over two years ago, we watched as a Ford Bronco driver pulled right into Petco Park – home of the San Diego Padres – and proceed to rip off some doughnuts as the dirt surface was being prepared for fresh grass. That person was later charged with felony vandalism, and now, the same fate may very well befall the driver of a stolen Ford Super Duty that wrecked a school’s football field, according to the Tahlequah and Cherokee County News.

This incident actually began when a woman pulled into Stuteville Ford of Tahlequah and parked her Ford Edge next to the Ford Super Duty, then proceeded to get into the pickup and drive off, according to Tahlequah Assistant Police Chief Dexter Scott. “She got out of the vehicle along with her dog. She got into the brand new truck, stole the truck, and left the dealership where she headed toward Muskogee,” Scott said.

The thief then proceeded to run into a fence at nearby Sequoyah High School, driving directly onto the football field and ripping off some donuts. This only went on for a few minutes before the woman departed and led authorities on a bit of a chase. “She was able to get back on the roadway and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service was able to catch up with the vehicle,” Scott said. “Somewhere on U.S. Highway 62, a pursuit ensued and they pursued her into Fort Gibson where [the Oklahoma Highway Patrol] took over the pursuit.”

This wild chase ended eventually in Muskogee, at which point police took the woman into custody, though she refused to say why she had committed this crime, nor did she give up any other kind of information – meaning that it’s unclear what prompted her to steal this Ford Super Duty and lead police on one heck of a journey.

It was her first time driving a man’s truck. She was afraid to drive it on the street, no other excuse was given except that she wanted to practice.
