Ford Transit Trail Recalled Over Tire Contact Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023-2024 Ford Transit Trail models over an issue with the tires making contact with other components.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the tires may contact the front wheel arch liner and body flange, causing damage to the tires.

The hazards: damaged tires may experience a sudden loss of air pressure or tread separation, causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: tires

Affected vehicles: select 2023-2024 Ford Transit Trail vehicles produced between March 15th, 2022, and March 6th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 1,902

The fix: the remedy is currently under development.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin April 8th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S21.
