Lincoln Corsair Production Increased In February 2024

Coming off a refresh for the 2023 model year, the Lincoln Corsair faced its fair share of production issues early last year, right alongside its mass market counterpart, the Ford Escape, largely due to issues discovered early in the process pertaining to the software in its digital instrument cluster. However, FoMoCo soon had that sorted out and production at the Louisville Assembly plant ramped up shortly thereafter, though it did plummet in November before rebounding in December to close out the calendar year. January saw that figure flatten out somewhat, and now, according to Ford’s latest sales report, Lincoln Corsair production managed to increase a little in February, too.

Last month, Lincoln Corsair production totaled 3,151 units, which is 116 units or around 3.8 percent higher than January’s total of 3,035 units. Aside from being the highest total the Corsair has seen in months, that figure also compares favorably to its platform mate, the Escape, as Ford Authority recently reported. In fact, Escape production at the Louisville plant totaled 15,472 units in February, which is 251 units or roughly 1.6 percent fewer than January. Regardless, such a nominal drop isn’t terribly notable, particularly since January marked the crossover’s best month of production since October 2023.

Interestingly, the Escape did receive some notable updates for the 2024 model year, including the Base trim becoming a fleet-only offering, the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad has been dropped from the lineup (but is still available as a dealer-installed option), the factory navigation option has been reduced from three years to one, and a handful of color changes have taken place as well.

However, this isn’t the case with the Escape’s more luxurious twin. In fact, the 2024 Lincoln Corsair carries over completely unchanged, and it will even retain its factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad, a feature that is now a dealer-installed option only for the Escape, as previously mentioned.
