Lincoln Sits Out 2024 New York International Auto Show

In recent years, much ado has been made about the fact that traditional auto shows, as we know them, haven’t been doing terribly well. Even before the pandemic, many brands had already begun bowing out of these once strategically important events, which was also true of visitors, as attendance has long been declining as well. That list includes Lincoln, which chose to sit out the 2023 New York International Auto Show, a notable move given the fact that the luxury brand previously used this particular forum to introduce a number of new and important models, including the Lincoln Navigator concept a few years ago. However, now, Lincoln is set to once again be absent from the 2024 NY Auto Show, too.

Lincoln is once again absent from the list of automotive brands set to have some sort of presence at this year’s New York International Auto Show, which is notable because many of its competitors will be there in some capacity – a list that includes Lexus, Infiniti, Genesis, Acura, and Audi. FoMoCo’s luxury arm just revealed the refreshed 2025 Lincoln Aviator, but that was done at a separate event that took place five days before the Chicago Auto Show.

As Ford Authority reported just yesterday, Lincoln’s mass market counterpart – Ford – is planning on revealing something new at the 2024 NY Auto Show, though it’s currently unclear what that might be. However, The Blue Oval has a few new products seemingly on the verge of making their debut, including the refreshed 2025 Ford Expedition, 2025 Ford Maverick, and 2025 Ford Bronco Sport.

The New York Auto Show is one of the oldest such events in the U.S., having debuted way back in 1900 at the original Madison Square Garden and serving as the host site for many important automotive debuts and moments, in general, over the years. The show has since moved to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, where it has expanded to include not only static displays, but also a host of hands-on experiences including an EV test track.
