2022 Ford Mustang GT-H Convertible Up For Auction

Hertz and Shelby have long enjoyed a cozy relationship, churning out a variety of “Rent-a-Racer” models over the past several decades. That partnership continued with the introduction of the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H years ago, a model that was built in very limited quantities, which is precisely why we rarely see them pop up for sale today. However, a supremely low-mile 2016 Shelby GT-H hit the auction block last summer, followed by a 2022 Ford Shelby GT-H coupe this past January and a 2022 GT-H convertible a month later. Now, another 2022 Ford Mustang GT-H convertible has surfaced for sale, this time, at Bring a Trailer.

Unlike those previous models, this 2022 Ford Mustang GT-H isn’t finished in Rapid Red Metallic, but rather, Shadow Black with gold Le Mans-style racing stripes and side stripes. With just 3,400 miles on the clock, it remains in stellar condition after it was purchased by the seller in 2023 through the Executive Purchase Plan, and sports a host of special touches including black 20-inch wheels, a vented hood, a unique upper grille, a rear spoiler, Shelby badging and tail panel lettering, and an anniversary decklid emblem.

Inside the cabin, one will find Ebony leather seating, aluminum trim accents, Shelby GT-H illuminated door sills, Shelby embroidered headrests and floor mats, and a dashboard plaque – in this case, showing serial number CSM 22H0005.

However, what makes this 2022 Ford Mustang GT-H more special than most is what lies under the hood – it’s one of just two examples modified by Shelby American for Hertz that’s powered by the Whipple-supercharged 5.0L V8 Coyote engine mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen differential with 3.55 gears. Thus, bidding has been hot and heavy so far, and we imagine that this very rare pony car will wind up selling for a healthy sum when the hammer falls.
