The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R marked the much-anticipated return of V8 power to that off-road focused model for the first time since its first generation, and as such, generated quite a bit of hype. However, the Raptor R was built in extremely limited quantities in its first model year, and with a price tag north of $100k, isn’t exactly what many fans had hoped for. However, even though the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R debuted with updated styling and more power than the outgoing, one-year-only model, that hasn’t stopped folks from bidding on this 2023 model at Bring a Trailer at a high intensity.
In fact, it took roughly 24 hours for bids to surpass the original MSRP of this 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R, meaning that the hype surrounding these powerful pickups hasn’t waned one bit. This example does have a mere 52 miles showing on the odometer, so it’s practically brand new, and it’s finished in the stellar shade dubbed Avalanche. On the outside, the high-performance pickup is bone stock, save for a dealer-installed bed mat, at least.
The same goes for the interior, which features black leather seating with all of the requisite Raptor R badging and logos, coupled with a full array of technology and safety features that come standard with this range-topping model. That list includes everything from a 12-inch screen running SYNC 4 to a digital instrument cluster, Bang & Olufsen sound system, and heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable seats.
The real star of any 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R lies under the hood, however – its supercharged 5.2L V8, which in this guise is factory-rated to send 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque to the wheels via the automaker’s 10-speed automatic transmission. This particular Raptor R is about as close as one can get to new without buying in that manner, and as such, it’ll be interesting to see what it ultimately sells for.
