The 2024 Ford Expedition gained one new exterior color known as Wild Green, but it dropped two colors from the lineup, leaving Infinite Blue Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Forged Green Metallic out of the order books for the latest model year.
Infinite Blue Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (paint code AB) was offered on the 2023 Ford Expedition XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch and Platinum trims, and was not offered at all on the base Expedition XL. The cool blue hue was first introduced for the 2022 model year as a $495 option.
Meanwhile, Forged Green Metallic (paint code L9) was offered on all 2023 Expedition trims, including XL, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch and Platinum. This color was also first introduced for the full-size SUV’s 2022 model year.
As for what exterior color options are available for the 2024 Ford Expedition, the following list outlines all nine exterior color choices for the full-size SUV:
- Star White Metallic Tri-Coat (AZ)
- Jewel Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (C9)
- Race Red (fleet only) (PQ)
- Iconic Silver Metallic (JS)
- Dark Matter Gray Metallic (HY)
- Stone Blue Metallic (C8)
- Agate Black Metallic (UM)
- Oxford White (YZ)
- Wild Green (FC) (new for 2024)
Aside from the deletion of the two aforementioned colors, the 2024 Ford Expedition doesn’t feature any major changes or updates compared to the 2023 model year. Perhaps the most notable upgrade is the optional Excursion Package. This package bundles handy features such as the Heavy Duty Trailer Tow Package, Advanced Cargo Manager, along with suspension and drivetrain upgrades like ControlTrac with eLSD, a 3.73-geared electronic limited-slip differential, and the Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) system with suspension road preview. Inside the cabin, the Expedition Package also adds a set of floor liners in the first and second rows.
Looking ahead, a series of notable changes are on the horizon for the Expedition. The upcoming model will feature redesigned taillights, a set of 24-inch wheels, and an overhauled interior, as evidenced by several prototypes spotted by Ford Authority. Inside the cabin, the forthcoming Expedition will gain a coast-to-coast screen, along with an additional screen in the center stack that’s located between the HVAC vents – much like the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus – along with a host of other changes.
We’ll have more on the Expedition soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Expedition news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
