2024 Ford F-150, Ranger Are Officially Shipping To Dealers

Those waiting on a refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 or redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger have faced some longer-than-expected delays thus far, particularly as it pertains to the mid-size pickup. In fact, the 2024 Ranger was originally slated to launch in the U.S. last summer, though that process didn’t begin until just a few weeks ago, as Ford Authority previously reported. As Ford Authority reported earlier today, the automaker’s latest sales report indicated that thousands of Ranger pickups were in transit or on dealer lots as of the end of last month, and now, The Blue Oval has confirmed that it and the 2024 Ford F-150 have officially begun shipping to dealers.

In addition to the delay in 2024 Ranger shipments – in spite of the fact that many have been produced over the past few months – the 2024 Ford F-150 has also remained in a bit of a limbo, but the automaker previously disclosed that the refreshed model was being held while it performed routine quality checks. Over the past several weeks, examples of the 2024 F-150 have been spotted at various locations around the Detroit area while that process was underway, too.

According to Ford, the automaker produced around 144,000 examples of both the 2024 F-150 and Ranger in Q1 alone, and now, those units are finally on their way to dealers. FoMoCo also revealed that it discovered a few minor issues that it corrected before shipping these pickups. For the F-150, that happened after it “uncovered an issue where modules did not shut off at night or were consuming more power than they should,” though a software update rectified that problem. As Ford Authority previously reported, The Blue Oval has been working to drive down leftover 2023 F-150 inventory via special incentives as well.

As for the Ranger, it noted that “Christine McGowan and the Ranger Raptor launch team spotted a cosmetic issue on the hood of the truck that made it appear as though there was a dent. The team moved quickly to add handling aids to provide support for the hood throughout the manufacturing process and made design changes to stiffen the character lines.” With all of that sorted, these new pickups are beginning to populate dealer lots as we speak.

  1. In the early summer of 2023 we ordered a 2024 2 wheel drive XLT Ranger. The dealer took $2500 down and we have been getting 45 day updates from Ford that we have an order number. But we haven’t heard from the dealer at all since we ordered. Why are the 2024 rangers getting to dealers now but still we have no VIN number? Why has the dealer not contacted us? It’s irritating that is seems they took our $2500 and forgot about us. Any comments our suggestions would be welcome.
