The Blue Oval kicked off its Ford Mustang 60 year celebration weeks ago, promising to provide fans with all sorts of nifty ways to celebrate the fact that yesterday marks six decades since the pony car made its official public debut back in 1964. Thus far, it has done precisely that, revealing the new Mustang Experience Center that’s set to open up next year, launching a traveling pony car show of sorts on the Mustang Unleashed Tour, and also promising owners of the 2024 Ford Mustang a special feature delivered via an over-the-air software update. Now, that feature has officially arrived, and it’s a pretty nifty one, to boot.
Fun surprise for 2024 @FordMustang owners today… we’re rolling out a software update that allows you to give your Mustang a vintage look with a new digital gauge cluster. It’s inspired by the design of 1967-68 Mustangs. So cool! And delivered with a software update! #Mustang60 pic.twitter.com/BbxBzWgadD

This feature gives 2024 Ford Mustang owners the ability to select a heritage-inspired 1967-1968 model year gauge cluster for their digital screens, which combines a host of elements from the pony car’s history for a pretty cool look. Ford reportedly looked at hundreds of Mustang gauge clusters from over the past six decades before narrowing their selection down to this specific design, which features a realistic chrome render wrap that mimics the polished metal used in models of this era.
The special heritage 2024 Ford Mustang gauge cluster began rolling out to customers yesterday, and will continue until it’s available for all owners. Ford notes that to receive this cool new feature, owners will need to turn on automatic software updates and set a recurring schedule in their software updates settings menu, however.
This nifty gauge cluster comes on the heels of the debut of the all-new 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package, which will be limited to just 1,965 units and features a host of other heritage-inspired styling elements – both inside the cabin and on the exterior, too.
We’ll have more on the Mustang’s 60th anniversary celebration soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
