2024 Ford Ranger Packages Explained

The highly anticipated all-new North American 2024 Ford Ranger made its formal debut in May 2023, representing a complete generational shift for the popular midsize pickup. The redesigned pickup offers a host of standard and optional packages – eight, to be exact – and below, Ford Authority makes things easy by outlining exactly what’s included in each one, what they cost, and how to get them.

As a reminder, the 2024 Ford Ranger trim lineup consists of XL, XLT, Lariat, and Raptor. As with other vehicles in The Blue Oval’s lineup, package availability depends on trim level. With that in mind, let’s explore the packages offered on the 2024 Ranger.

STX Appearance Package

The STX Appearance Package (option code 76F) is standard on the Ranger XL, meaning it does not add any extra cost to the midsize pickup. This package includes includes a bevy of upgrades, outlined in the following list:

  • Four-pin/seven-pin wiring harness
  • Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver

Advanced Trailer Tow Package

The Advanced Trailer Tow Package increases the towing capacity of the 2024 Ranger XLT, Lariat and Raptor. It’s an optional extra that costs $825 for the XLT and Lariat trims, and is included as standard on Raptor models. This package includes the following:

  • Trailer Brake Controller
  • Pro Trailer Backup Assist
  • Reverse Park Aid with Trailer Guidance

Note that there are several variants of this package, although the content is the same. The Advanced Trailer Tow Package for the Ranger XLT can either be bundled with the Advanced Technology Package, or added as a standalone option. For the Ranger Lariat trim, the package differs between the 4×2 models and 4×4 models.

In addition to new styling inside and out, coupled with a handful of other major changes, the 2024 Ford Ranger nearly matches the EPA fuel economy ratings of its predecessor, as Ford Authority recently reported. However, the upgrades come at a cost, as the new Ranger is more expensive across the board. However, it’s important to note that the increase can be attributed to the inclusion of more equipment as standard. But considering that the Ranger beat out its fiercest rivals in a recent comparison, the pickup is an excellent buy for the price.

read the fine print on the technology package. Looks like an up charge after a 3 year trial period. Would be interesting to see the actual dollar amount to continue the service
