Shortly after the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer debuted a few months ago, it was followed by the updated 2025 Lincoln Aviator, and both of these revised models are slated to enter production next month. The more luxurious variant of this pairing is getting the typical updates one would expect from a mid-cycle refresh, including new front and rear styling, some new tech features, and the introduction of the new Lincoln Digital Experience software. However, the 2025 Aviator will also have plenty of competition to contend with, including the refreshed 2025 Acura MDX, which has just been revealed.
Interestingly, the 2025 Acura MDX hasn’t received too many updates as part of this refresh, though there are some notable ones. For starters, the trim level selection has changed, as the base Type S has been dropped from the lineup – though the better-equipped Type S Advance remains. Meanwhile, the A-Spec Advance is new, and comes with the quilted leather/massaging front seats previously found in the now-discontinued Type S, plus a handful of additional features.
In terms of styling, the 2025 Acura MDX does get some minor updates to the front fascia, but the biggest changes lie inside the cabin. There, Acura has ditched its old touchpad arrangement in favor of a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, which is joined by a new center console design, along with laminated rear glass and additional insulation to quell road noise.
In terms of powertrains, all have carried over unchanged, meaning that shoppers get two choices – the standard 3.5L V6 rated to produce 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, or the turbocharged 3.0L V6 in the Type S, which churns out 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, both mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Pricing for the 2025 Acura MDX has yet to be announced, but the updated crossover is currently scheduled to launch next month, so we should know more soon.
