Best Xfinity NASCAR Ford Finishes 10th At Richmond March 2024: Video

The Xfinity Series race at Richmond Raceway on March 30th, 2024 belonged to the Toyotas, while just one NASCAR Ford team finished inside the top 10. In fact, it was a pretty quiet day for The Blue Oval overall.

Cole Custer, driver of the No. 00 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, showed promise when the green flag dropped. He raced at the front of the field, trading paint with Parker Retzlaff in the No. 31 Chevy Camaro SS, but allowed Justin Allgaier to slip by on the inside to take the lead in the No. 7 Camaro. Custer would finish eighth in Stage 1, and managed to stay in ninth place during Stage 2. He even led seven laps – the only NASCAR Ford driver to do so.

However, Custer just couldn’t get back up to the front, and ultimately settled for a 10th-place finish – again, the only NASCAR Ford team to finish inside the top 10. Riley Herbst’s No. 98 Mustang was the next-best Blue Oval racer, finishing 14th, while Matt DiBenedetto finished 18th in the No. 38 Mustang, followed by the No. 92 Mustang of Josh Bilicki in 19th.

Up front, Chandler Smith’s No. 81 Supra held off the No. 20 Supra of Aric Almirola to win.
