The 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor gained quite a few unique updates for the latest model year, including sporty painted fender flares that were previously spied by Ford Authority. Now, it seems as though The Blue Oval is taking the painted exterior accents to another level, as the automaker may soon offer a painted roof option for the muscular off-road SUV.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Ford Bronco Raptor will gain a painted roof option that would match the rugged pony’s body color. This addition would create a seamless monochromatic look for the Bronco right off the showroom floor for customers interested in a more uniform appearance for their Bronco in any color.
For reference, the only Ford Bronco variants to offer a painted roof option are the Heritage and Heritage Limited models, although the roofs are not body-color; rather, they are exclusively available in Oxford White, regardless of the color of the rest of the SUV. The rest of the Bronco lineup, meanwhile, makes use of the molded-in-color (MIC) hard top roof.
The decision to offer a body-color painted roof may signal the end of production woes for Bronco tops. Buyers interested in securing a hardtop separately were forced to search for aftermarket options, until recently, as factory MIC hardtops went on sale just last month. However, it’s worth noting that these hardtops cost $4,495, plus an additional $300 for installation at a dealer, and are thus far only available for the four-door Bronco. The good news is that there are a bevy of options for hardtops for four-door models from aftermarket suppliers such as Advanced Fiberglass Concepts, which offers quite a few advantages over the factory model, although this company doesn’t offer any for two-door models yet, either.
