Ford Bronco Sport Production Decreased In March 2024

Ford Bronco Sport production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant has experienced its fair share of ups and downs over the past several months, increasing by 14.6 percent in December versus November and rising 16.6 percent in January before dipping 12 percent in February. That trend also continued in the month of March, as Ford Bronco Sport production declined month-over-month yet again, according to The Blue Oval’s Q1 2024 sales report.

After totaling 14,221 units in February, Ford Bronco Sport production at Hermosillo declined in a rather large manner to 11,389 units in March – a decrease of 2,832 units or just a touch under 20 percent. Interestingly, production of the Ford Maverick – which is built alongside the Bronco Sport in Mexico – experienced its own production slowdown in March as well. Last month, FoMoCo built 3,156 Maverick pickups at Hermosillo, which represents a month-over-month decrease of 1,160 units, or just over eight percent.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has been treated to a few notable updates in the crossover’s fourth year of production. For starters, the Heritage Limited has been dropped from the lineup, along with the entry-level Base trim, though Ford has also added two other interesting variants for the new model year – the Black Appearance Package and the retro-themed Free Wheeling model.

Additionally, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport lineup has dropped its factory-installed keyless entry keypad, instead making it a dealer-installed option, along with its windshield wiper de-icer. As is usually the case with model year transitions, the 2024 Bronco Sport marks a few changes to its available exterior color palette, ditching a grand total of four choices as well – though at least a couple have been replaced by new hues.

After my insurance company “stole/totaled” my 2011 Ford Escape I used that money along with the sale of my 2001 Mustang and ordered a 2024 Free Wheeling Bronco Sport. I absolutely LOVE it !!!!! I thank you FORD 💕
