Ford Bronco Sport Roof Rack By TrailRax Officially Debuts

Ford Bronco Sport owners have their fair share of aftermarket parts and accessories to choose from, with many coming from the official Blue Oval catalog itself. In fact, shortly after the rugged crossover debuted, FoMoCo launched a number of Lifestyle Accessory Bundles that include feature gear-specific equipment from Yakima that are available at the time of order and can be rolled into vehicle financing. Every one of those bundles comes with some sort of roof rack, but now, those seeking that same sort of part can get it from a company called TrailRax.

Ford Bronco Sport TrailRax Modular Roof Rack System - Exterior 001 - Side

The TrailRax modular roof rack system for the Ford Bronco Sport is made from aluminum and offers customers a variety of configurations to suit various cargo-carrying needs, whether they’re looking to haul kayaks, tents, or just about anything else. Additionally, users can add the company’s PAKRAX kit and add mounting points for things like traction boards, shovels, two-gallon rotopaX containers, and various other accessories.

In addition to not impeding use of the sunroof, the TrailTrax modular roof rack for the Ford Bronco Sport includes a wind deflector to eliminate noise and a cut-out to flush-fit a light bar into the rack. Those that don’t opt for the PAKRAX kit can also get a wind deflector or opt for a deflector with a cut-out to accommodate the same light bar, too. Either way, the rack is easy to install using the Bronco Sport’s OEM roof rails, and pricing starts out at $1,099.

“We build our rack to be capable on its own of withstanding 250 pounds static, and 700 pounds dynamic,” said Adam Engelke, CEO and President, TrailRax. “All these weights will be at your discretion as they are above Ford’s ‘recommended’ capacities. GVWR and other factors such as roof materials, the center of gravity, and wind dynamics all apply to any load you put on top of a vehicle, and you, as the user, are responsible for the safe loading and operation of your vehicle. Please review your Owner’s Manual to review your recommended payloads for your Bronco.”
