The Ford Authority Take
Ford F-150 Lightning sales started out the year maintaining a strong, positive upward trend from the previous quarter, in spite of waning interest in The Blue Oval’s first EV truck and as competitors begin continuing adding their own models to the small but growing full-size mainstream electric pickup truck segment.
Ford cut its workforce at the F-150 Lightning plant amid weak demand, as it scales back its planned production output of the EV pickup in 2024 at the Rogue Electric Vehicle Center.
About Ford F-150 Lightning
For 2024, the Ford F-150 Lightning drops two configurations. Yet, it adds a new Flash trim level, sitting above the XLT trim, as an option that bundles tech upgrades and the extended range battery at a more reasonable price. On the other end of the spectrum, The Blue Oval debuted the Platinum Black trim, with the F-150 Lightning being the first production Ford truck to feature a matte wrap.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning gains ActiveX seating for the Lariat trim, and the entire 2024 lineup gets a heat pump as standard, while dropping Active Park Assist 2.0.
At the beginning of the year, the Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear debuted as new demonstrator, a performance off-roading EV pickup that channels the spirit of the Raptor that is another collaboration between RTR and Ford Performance.

When will Ford reveal the fourth electric vehicle?
Ford could make some sales if they didn’t force that horrific vertical screen on the nicer trims..if you could get the portrait screen in the platinum or lariat, I’d have strongly considered one.
They are discounted 80% of course they are going to sell.
” discounted 80%”. Yea right. They’re being bought because EVs are the future. Get use to it. Stop living in denial.
Yes, 7700 sales is really setting the world on fire 🙄
They’re not discounted 80%, but they’re seeing some decent discounts. They’re discounted to parity or slightly under gas f150 pricing.
You can get a lightning platinum cheaper than a gas platinum. A loaded lariat light ing is cheaper than a gas one as well.
I’m not sure about pro and XLT, but for people who don’t need a lot of truck, giving them an electric for less than a gas truck can be a selling point.
Well one thing is obvious. Ford deserves credit to find a way to sell it’s product despite economic or political changes in the market place.
I know why they have a bump in sales. I bought a extended range xlt for 20k off sticker last month! 57k OTD.
