The refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 has been in production for some time now, though early in that process, production was paused due to a supplier parts issue. F-150 production hit another snag as the automaker completed its normal quality reviews prior to shipping any units to dealers, which meant that a considerable number of trucks were being stored at various locations near the automaker’s Dearborn-based headquarters for some time. However, now that deliveries have officially begun, Ford F-150 production also ramped up in March, according to the automaker’s Q1 2024 sales report.
In January, Ford F-150 production at the Dearborn Truck plant totaled 16,106 units, which represented an increase of around 9.5 percent compared to December. However, at the Kansas City Assembly plant, a total of 10,262 units rolled off the assembly line, which was a rather significant decrease of 52.7 percent. In total, this means that Ford F-150 production at both plants finished January at 26,368 units, or 27.4 percent lower than December. In February, Ford built 27,628 F-150 pickups at the Dearborn plant and 25,147 in Kansas City, for a total output of 52,775 units – which was 26,407 units or just over 100 percent more than January.
Last month, Ford F-150 production at the Dearborn plant declined ever-so-slightly to 27,535 units, which is 93 units or 0.3 percent fewer than February. Production at Kansas City did increase by 591 units or around 2.4 percent, however, to 25,738 units. This means that total Ford F-150 production in March came out to 53,272 units, which is a month-over-month increase of 498 units or 0.94 percent.
