Ford Mustang 60th Celebration Held At Essex Engine Plant

This year marks 60 years since the Ford Mustang made its debut at the 1964 New York International Auto Show, which obviously calls for a bit of a celebration. The Blue Oval has several ways it plans to do precisely that – aside from the launch of the all-new S650 generation model – and that includes the forthcoming debut of the all-new Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package at Charlotte Motor Speedway at a fan event on April 17th, as well as a special yet-to-be-revealed feature that will become available to existing owners on the same day. However, it isn’t just fans that are getting in on this action, either.

Recently, the Ford Essex Engine plant in Canada held a special anniversary celebration for the Ford Mustang as well, which is notable given the fact that this same facility produces the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine utilized in the GT and Dark Horse. A number of pony cars from all vintages showed up for this special event, even taking the time to form a giant number “60” for a pretty cool photo op.

In addition to these official Ford Mustang celebrations, fans will have plenty of other ways to mark this particular milestone, too. As Ford Authority recently reported, that includes the upcoming 2024 Carlisle Ford Nationals – the largest all-Ford show on earth – where a variety of special sub-events are planned for precisely that purpose as well.

We’ll have more on the 60 years of Ford Mustang celebration soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
