Ford Mustang Mach-E Among CR’s Best EVs Of Spring 2024

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has long been a favorite among both Consumer Reports and its members, making the organization’s list of recommended vehicles multiple times (a proud moment for CEO Jim Farley) and being named one of the most satisfying models on the road, all while also ranking second on J.D. Power’s 2024 Electric Vehicle Experience Ownership Study. Now, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has yet another accolade to add to its long list of them after it ranked among Consumer ReportsBest EVs of Spring 2024, too.

Consumer Reports came up with this particular list by looking to its overall scores for every EV that the organization has tested thus far, which takes into account a variety of factors – including road testing results, predicted reliability, customer satisfaction scores, safety ratings, and the presence of standard safety equipment. Once the dust settled, it ranked each model based on that overall score to give us a better picture of which is the best on the market at the moment.

In that regard, the Ford Mustang Mach-E tied for second place in the mainstream EV SUV category with an overall score of 70, placing it behind only the Kia EV6, which achieved a score of 77, and ranking it right alongside the Nissan Ariya, which also received a score of 70. The Mach-E earned CR‘s Green Choice certification, and produced above average results in road testing and predicted owner satisfaction, as well as an average score in predicted reliability.

Consumer Reports praised the Ford Mustang Mach-E for its abundance of cargo space, quick acceleration, quiet cabin, and agile handling, though it had a few criticisms as well. Those include a difficult-to-learn infotainment system/screen, a ride that’s “jittery and unsettled,” and a “stark” interior space.

We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

    1. Well, the infotainment-A/C controls on my Mach-E are way better than in my prior five cars, but I haven’t had fancy cars.

  3. Well if the Mach-E has a stark interior space I wonder what the Tesla interior space is considered?
