Just yesterday, The Blue Oval hosted a special 60th anniversary celebration for the Ford Mustang at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina on the same day that it was revealed to the public back in 1964 – one that invited fans to come out and witness some pretty cool pony car-related tidbits. That included the debut of the 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package, a meet and greet with Ford Performance drivers, a host of race cars on display, a Pony Personalization Corner, and the chance to experience ride alongs on a drift track and the famous Roval. However, there was one other thing that happened worth noting – the automaker may have very well teased the S650 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, too.

As we can see in this post from Ford North America Product Communications director Mike Levine, FoMoCo showed off some sort of future Mustang model on the screen behind its main stage, which is covered with a large sheet. No additional details were provided, but this could very well be the first 2025 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 teaser we’ll see. As Ford Authority reported last spring, S650 generation GT500 mules have already begun testing, signaling the eventual return of the range-topping pony car at some point in the near future after it was discontinued following the 2022 model year.
It’s unclear if this teaser pertains to a new GT500 or something else entirely, but for now, we have plenty of pony car celebrations left to soak in. In fact, Ford also revealed the brand new Mustang Experience Center that’s set to open next year as a true destination for fans, and also gave 2024 Mustang owners a special heritage-inspired gauge cluster option via a software update, too.
We’ll have more on the S650 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news, Mustang Shelby GT500 news, and continuous Ford news coverage.

Isn’t it too early for the next GT500?
A GT350 with torque vectoring, evolved from the drift brake system, possibly?
Low trim enhancements would be nice, but not celebrated with a reveal.
