Fresh off wrapping up 2023 as Europe’s 11th best-selling new vehicle, the Ford Puma continued its success in January by once again ranking within the top 20 on that particular list – falling to number 12 this time around. In February, that trend continued, as the Ford Puma once again ranked in the top 25, but slid down the charts by coming in 18th place after recording sales of 11,745 units – though that was also 18 percent higher than the same month one year ago. Now, new data from The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited (SMMT) reveals that the Ford Puma enjoyed some solid success in the UK, specifically, through the first few months of the year.
Though it closed out the month of March in second place on the UK sales charts – behind the Nissan Qashquai – the Ford Puma still held onto the top spot through the first three months of the year, finishing the quarter with 15,054 sales in that particular country. That outpaced the Qashquai by just 499 units, however, in what’s shaping up to be a solid competition for the remainder of the 2024 calendar year. As for the overall UK car market, new registrations rose by 10.4 percent to 317,786 units, which is the best result in the month of March since 2019, not to mention the 20th consecutive month of growth in that country.
Meanwhile, the refreshed 2024 Ford Puma was just unveiled this past February, ushering in a few updates for the popular crossover. The 2024 Puma only features a few small exterior styling updates – which include new headlights – though inside the cabin, the Puma nets a larger 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch infotainment screen running SYNC 4 software. In terms of powertrains, the 2024 Ford Puma comes with the 1.0L I-3 EcoBoost gas engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system to generate either 125 PS (153 horsepower) or 155 (153 horsepower) PS, or 170 PS (168 horsepower) for the Puma ST Powershift model.
