Following its launch in select global markets, the all-new 2024 Ford Ranger debuted for North America back in May 2023. However, for several months, production of that model remained severely constrained, and in fact, deliveries of the redesigned mid-size pickup didn’t actually begin until just a few weeks ago. Regardless, 2024 Ford Ranger production at the Michigan Assembly plant has been ramping up quite a bit over the past couple of months, and that was also the case in March, according to FoMoCo’s latest sales report.
In January, a grand total of 2,644 2024 Ford Ranger pickups were built at MAP, which represented an increase of 2,242 units, or 558 percent, compared to December 2023. That number grew to 2,871 units in February – an increase of 227 units, or around 8.6 percent. However, things really ramped up in March, as Ford built a total of 6,707 Ranger pickups last month – which represents a significant increase of 3,836 units or 134 percent.
With deliveries underway for a few weeks now, 2024 Ford Ranger pickups are beginning to populate dealer lots, though for now at least, that only includes models equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost, as variants packing the twin-turbo 2.7L V6 EcoBoost aren’t expected to follow suit until the fall.
The 2024 Ford Ranger features a number of notable changes – including perhaps the biggest in the debut of the high-performance Ranger Raptor powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, which will be sold in the U.S. for the very first time. In addition to new styling inside and out, coupled with a handful of other major changes, the 2024 Ford Ranger nearly matches the EPA fuel economy ratings of its predecessor, as Ford Authority recently reported. However, all of these updates come at a cost, as the new Ranger is more expensive across the board – though in some cases, that increase can be attributed to the presence of more standard equipment.

I ordered a 2024 Ranger in July 20, 2023 for US delivery. The order tracking indicated the build started on January 24, 2024 at MAP. As of today 4/4/2024 it has not been delivered. Your recent digest dated 4/4/24 states close to 10,000 – 2024 Rangers have been produced from January through March 2024 …. Something is wrong with the info. Appreciate your help!
I ordered a 2023 and they quit production and told me it’s going to be a 2024. I’ve been waiting for 5 months now and that’s terrible. If Ford wants to be still the leader in trucks they better get their $hit together. It’s really to bad.
It’s an all new model truck! It’s released when it’s absolutely ready & 100% passes all Q1 metrics. I think some ppl are trolling.
Great – orders are up. Now slap a metric on DELIVERY Ford. I ordered mine last June-still don’t have it.
They on the way. Call your dealer for up to date info. This isn’t a Ford corporate site.
You’re complaining about a 6- 8 month wait, in Australia, the country that developed the Ranger/Everest/Amarok, depending on the variant and the motor the wait time can be 2 years.
I put my order in for a 2024 Ranger June 2023. Just now got a production date of Apr 17, 2024. Also just received an email stating there is yet ANOTHER delay in the build. I am seriously thinking on checking out the Chevy Colorado and say screw Ford. Turn in my 2021 Ranger and call it a day. This is crazy. They got the 2024 Raptor out and some sold. So, what’s the hold up on the Lariat????
