Ford has been an official sponsor of the iconic Kentucky Derby for many years now, which makes perfect sense given the fact that the automaker operates two assembly plants in that state – with another currently under construction. However, Ford’s Garage – a rapidly expanding restaurant chain officially licensed by The Blue Oval – has also supported the Kentucky Derby in the past, hosting official watch parties for most famous horse race in history, too. Now, that tradition is set to continue in 2024, as Ford’s Garage will once again serve as the official watch location for the Kentucky Derby.
For the second consecutive year, the Ford’s Garage has been named an official watch location for 10 Days of Derby, the countdown to the Kentucky Derby. All 24 locations will host special parties and events while showing qualifying races and the main event, all as part of a collaboration between the restaurant chain, Ford Motor Company, Churchill Downs Racetrack, and the Kentucky Derby.
Additionally, Ford’s Garage locations will be serving a host of famous cocktails long enjoyed by Kentucky Derby fans, such as the Mint Julep and Woodford Spire, while 150 keepsake glasses will be gifted to MotorClub members and available for purchase in limited quantities at participating locations. Commemorative shirts and hats will be available to purchase, along with something new – Ford’s Hot Brown sandwich, which is a twist on the traditional sandwich first introduced in 1926 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville.
“It’s an honor to be a part of one of America’s most celebrated sporting events and to allow our guests to participate in the festivities,” said Steve Shlemon, president of Ford’s Garage. “The Kentucky Derby exemplifies the American spirit of striving to be the best, and we invite everyone to experience its thrills while connecting with the automotive industry that is another proud slice of Americana.”
We’ll have more on Ford’s Garage soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for ongoing Ford news coverage.
